About last night…

Posted in Fig Columbia

The evening started with a pizza party for a 13 year old boy, who had very little interest in hanging with his parents afterward. He was with friends, his father was supervising and his mother decided to pop out to MoMo’s for a quick snack and some fun. Lo and behold, there was someone she knew at the bar. (Hello, Andy!)

Soon three more friends arrived. As an aside, don’t you love the kind of friends who respond to last-minute invites? Everyone should have a list of those. What a great night, during which the Shop Tart waxed poetic over her love for Kaoma, Mellow Man Ace and non-threatening cat calls from strangers, specifically an enthusiastic, “Ay, mami…” Don’t judge, yo.

Anyhow, the ceviche special was outstanding, served over a delicious pile of arugula with citrus basil vinaigrette. If it’s still on the menu tonight, the Shop Tart may just go back.

Her Chopin gimlet was as delicious as always, but she did not turn down this spectacularly cold half-Budweiser when it was put in front of her. (She looked around for Phil Bailey, but didn’t see him.) This won’t be on the regular menu at MoMo’s, or anywhere else for that matter, but the Shop Tart wonders if she could purchase half-beers at the package store? They would be perfect for the beach.

The Shop Tart loves summer so darn much, don’t you? She’s headed to Wendy at Faces on Devine today for a tan and can’t wait to rock it at a pool near you.

Lookign for a place to rock today? The River Rocks festival to benefit Congaree Riverkeeper is happening right now at Riverfront Park. It started at 11 am and continues until 9 tonight. Should be fun!

Did you see or hear Otis Taylor on Shop Tart Live yesterday? He was great. If you listened in, then you missed the final moment, during which Otis’ mad chic look was dissected. Check it out!

Happy Summer and don’t forget to tell them you read it on the Shop Tart!

Half-beers are everywhere – or atleast they’ve been around when I’ve wanted them. When I drink beer, which is rare, that’s all I buy. Try The Pig, Publix…any grocery store really. And of course wine and beer shops. I’ve even purchased them at the beach.

Not sure if there at every grocer, but they’ve been around quite a while and shouldn’t be too hard to find. It’s one of those items that one is never aware of, until you’re aware of it!

Word usage error, but I’ll let it slide.
